Meet the Team

Susie

Susie has been a part of the team at Los Angeles Vision Institute for over 15 years. Prior to joining Los Angeles Vision Institute, Susie was a staff member at UCLA- Jules Stein Eye Institute. 

Susie is a California native. She likes to watch rodeos and rides horses in her free time. Susie is an animal-lover and enjoys spending with her two sheep-dogs and chihuahua, Theona. 

Bernie

Bernie has joined the Los Angeles Vision Institute in 2016. Bernie has over 30 years of eye care and optical experience. 

Bernie is a native of Southern California, and is a big sports fan.  Bernie enjoys gourmet cooking and studying foreign languages. She has two children, Matthew and Megan, who live in the area. 

Andrea

Andrea has been a part of the team at Los Angeles Vision Institute since 2013. She started her journey in ophthalmology back in her home state of Connecticut in 2010.

Andrea graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. There she competed as a member of the dance team for all four years and went on to dance professionally for Connecticut's AHL hockey team and WNBA team, the Connecticut Suns. 

In her spare time, she still enjoys dance classes, yoga, discovering new restaurants and the occasional reality TV show. 

Scott

Scott has worked for Los Angeles Vision Institute as a technician for over 21 years and has over 30 years of Ophthalmology and general health care experience. He previously worked with a large HMO group in multiple areas of nursing to include Urgent Care, Orthopedics, Internal and Pediatric medicine as well as Ophthalmology. 

Scott also has 26 years of active and reserve service in the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman and later as a Logistics Specialist. While with Los Angeles Vision Institute he deployed multiple times in service to our Country. He retired from the Navy in 2014 as a Chief Petty Officer.  

During his off time, he enjoys traveling with his family as well as winter sports and hiking. He is a dog lover who also enjoys walks with his English Mastiff Gunner. 

Peter

Peter has been a part of optical at Los Angeles Vision Institute for over 12 years. He has over thirty-nine years of experience in optical boutiques including technical and lab work, beginning in his home state of Minnesota.

In his free time, Peter enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He has a passion for antiques, collectables, and interior design. An avid lover of animals, and enjoys spending time with his eight year old Yorkie, Phoebie. 

Rene

Rene has been a part of the Los Angeles Vision Institute for over 8 years. He has over 30 years of optical experience working in optical boutiques with a focus on styling. He is a true expert in fitting eyewear. 

He enjoys outdoor activities including hiking and bike riding. He is a native of Moreilia, MX, and is an active sports fan (basketball, football, soccer, baseball, tennis, golf).
